Techniques 3: Basic techniques and non-trivial questions
Continuing where I left off in 'very basic techniques', there are a couple
of tricks I have noticed that take more thinking.
- When you have several open squares in a box and just one square
is valid for a given digit, that is the value of that square. Like before,
make sure the value you fill in will not work in any of the other blanks
in the box.
- When three boxes have the options {12, 12, 13}, the value for
the
third box has to be '3'. This is because if it was '1', one of the
first two boxes would get '2', and the other would have no ptions.
That is all I can think of off the top of my head, for now. I am interested in hearing what tips and tricks other people have.
